I am following up on your comment and informing you that the Zest mill you purchased is a mill for dry salt. Guérande salt is a sea salt which, even when dried, remains a wet salt and it cannot be used with your mill which has a metal mechanism. This type of sea salt is suitable for use in wet salt mills, dedicated to sea salts, with a ceramic mechanism. With a metal mechanism such as the one in the Zest mill you have purchased, the use of this type of salt is absolutely prohibited because it deteriorates it over time. Here are some examples of rock salt you can use, such as those sold on our site: - Persian blue salt - white salt crystals from Germany - pink salt from the Andes However, I would like to give you some advice on how to clean your grinder thoroughly, which will probably help you solve your problem: Empty your mill completely and let it dry for several days. This can stop possible corrosion and allow the mill to operate again. Then fill your mill with dry rock salt only (grain size 4 mm maximum) This approach should allow you to resolve your problem and thus take full advantage of your salt mill for dry salt. However, if this product does not meet your needs, we invite you to contact us to arrange the return of your mill at our expense.
